HAD I BEEN BORN DEAD...

Had I been born dead, the chances are I would not have lived,
Yet I would still have been born even though I was dead.
My life would have been shortened, roughly by a life time
And death would have been the instant of birth and visa versa.
Then who would I have been, had I been, whom I never was:
What spirit... what soul... what brainless non-event...
