THE WAY WE LIVE

In view of life's brevity we should prioritize truth
And seek wisdom by exploring ourselves.
For it seems in this world common sense is aloof
And we seem never in logic to delve.
One doctrine that's false will lead to another,
That we live by a counterfeit law,
Immortality is conditional for man and his brother;
Only through God can we enter the door.
Where is this heaven? 'Tis only Gods home:
It can never be the residence of man.
'Tis on Earth we're restored from perishable bone
According to the Lords infallible plan.
For who are we sinners to alter the words
Of the Lord whose definitions we ban.
