ALL I CAN SAY

With rue acquainted I do take my leave,
For what I look for I do not receive
'Tis like a leaf that crumples in the sun,
Now that its season has bloomed and now is done.
Why must such beauty be by time destroyed
By the savage elements nature thus deploys?
That God doth watch them in such horror die
Leaves me to question, why, Oh, why oh why!?
Is all this pressure exerted on the mind
Designed to convince us that cruel is being kind?
I watch the world and man still killing man
And all I can say is damn, and damn and damn!!
There is no sense in words that mock the eye.
We struggle to survive, yet still we die.
