GOOD AND EVIL

~ 1 ~

Goodness and evil dance together,
United in the same dance hall,
Each to the other with umbilical tether
Are bound, lest one of them fall.

~ 2 ~

Life not a right is a fundamental need,
Survival defining its measure,
Evil destroying the perpetual seed,
That goodness seeks for its pleasure.

~ 3 ~

Death the decider uses its broom
Where the victims of evil decay,
Where glimmering hope wrestles with gloom,
As night makes brighter the day.

~ 4 ~

For goodness and evil like the sun and the moon,
For the survival of earth must stay.
For one is the bride and the other the groom,
That must allow their babies to play.

~ 5 ~

Man's heart is evil; he would do you wrong,
To secure his own perpetual peace,
That same good man who sings sweet songs
That his own powers of love increase.

~ 6 ~

Yet love and hate, like peace and war,
All serve their purposes well;
All good from evil we restore,
For heaven is an alumnus of hell.

~ 7 ~

We become evil when desperate and dying
For survival we challenge and grope,
When our children are hungry miserably crying
And we are left starving without any hope.

~ 8 ~

The evil extends to the self righteous plunder,
Of all that is heavenly clad,
To people who steel another mans thunder,
Or his wife, which is equally bad.

~ 9 ~

Everyone wanting, desiring and stealing,
Self importance the primary role,
Arrogantly scheming and wheeling and dealing,
For we are blessed with an injurious soul.

~ 10 ~

This is our world, the mould, the cocoon,
Where evil and goodness are brothers,
Germinating together from a natural bloom,
For the sun and the moon are lovers.
