MANNER OF SPEECH

Much can be derived from one's manner of speech,
Words commonly said have a great deal to teach,
Such as pontifical words from the self centred throat,
And vague diatribes that are hollow and remote.
As when a group has a discussion in the presence of topic,
As though the subject is absent or at least microscopic.
Experienced by the old from the brazen and young,
Practiced by people climbing the ambitious rung.
Preponderant belief; envious character; revenge;
The culture of clique; a reluctance to impinge.
Often it is ignorance or arrogance or both,
Or a rare opportunity to demean and to loathe.
Ah! Yes, there is much in the songs of the birds,
Truth lives in the reasons for scribing the words.
