WHY DO WE REMEMBER?

A minute of silence
never will tell
the reason we remember
a soldier's time in hell
it's not war that we celebrate
nor all of your pain
it is your sacrifice
and those who were slain
it may be sorrow
for those no longer here
it is to say thank you
and our words are sincere
we regret it took war
we regret what it cost
we regret your pain
and all of your loss
but the soldiers we honor
for keeping us free
are heroes to us
and they always will be
